Donald Trump might be losing it… and we’re not just talking about the presidential race!
Over the past few weeks, the Republican nominee has repeatedly insisted that the election is “rigged.”
defense mechanism argument culminated at Wednesday night’s debate when Trump refused to confirm whether he would accept the results of the election after November 8.
But on Thursday, the candidate gave an even bigger preview of the sore loser we could expect to see by saying he would “promise and pledge” to accept the results of the election — as long as Hillary Clinton doesn’t win!
Speaking at a rally in Delaware, Ohio, the 70-year-old said:
“I would like to promise and pledge to all of my voters and supporters and to all of the people of the United States, that I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election… if I win.”
Trump went on to say he would exercise his right to challenge the election, “in the case of a questionable result.”
And based on his comments so far, Trump is probably confusing “questionable” with “unfavorable” or “inevitable.”
In any case, this kind of talk is incredibly dangerous, as it comes dangerously close to inciting the losing side of a vote to revolt — and that’s not how democracy works.
