Senator Barbara Boxer Will Introduce A Bill To Get Rid Of The Electoral College

Nobody puts Barbara Boxer in a corner!

By now, you’ve hopefully started to come to terms with the reality that Donald Trump will be the next President of the United States despite losing the popular vote during last week’s election.

Current numbers put Hillary Clinton above the racist Republican 61,329,657 to 60,530,867 — but the Electoral College ensured that Trump still won… and we think it’s time for that to change.

Luckily, we’re not alone! Outspoken women’s rights activist and retiring California Junior Senator Barbara Boxer is about done with the outdated polling process as well!

In fact, Kamala Harris‘ predecessor released a statement Tuesday afternoon alerting D.C. of her intention to get rid of the Electoral College once and for all!

In her statement, Barbara broke down just how “undemocratic” the current system can be, saying:

“In my lifetime, I have seen two elections where the winner of the general election did not win the popular vote. The Electoral College is an outdated, undemocratic system that does not reflect our modern society, and it needs to change immediately. Every American should be guaranteed that their vote counts.”

Preach, Babs!

Basically, the bill would make it so the popular vote was the only thing that mattered going forward in our general elections.

But that’s not all she wrote… Barbara also made sure to reference President-elect Trump’s own criticism against the Electoral College while promoting her plan, saying:

“In 2012, Donald Trump tweeted, ‘The electoral college is a disaster for a democracy.’ I couldn’t agree more. One person, one vote!”

Oh, just in case he comes out denying he said that…

For once, we agree with him!

Unfortunately, seeing as both the Senate and the House of Representatives are currently running red… Barbara’s bill most likely won’t ever get passed.

But it’s definitely a start!

Do U think America is in need of another Constitutional Amendment??
